Sheep are the oldest domesticated animal known to man. They were first mentioned in Genesis 4, where Abel was the first shepherd, only one generation away from creation.

Sheep are mentioned all through the Bible. We are compared to sheep and Yahshua (Jesus) as our Shepherd.

Isaiah 53:6
"All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his own way."

Revelation 21:8
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

John 10:11
"I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep."

I Corinthians 15:3
"Yahshua died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures."

Luke 13:3
"Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

Romans 10:13
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of Yahweh shall be saved."

The Bible compares us to sheep and Yahshua to our shepherd, but many people are not in his flock. They have chosen to disobey Yahweh and go their own way. Yahshua wants to be your Good Shepherd, but your sin separates you from Him so you must get right with Him first. You need to turn from your sin and trust Yahshua and His payment for your sins. Then He will save you and give you a home in heaven.
